Our Wedding at La Mesa Dam Guest House

Dahil malapit na ang aming 3rd year wedding anniversary, naisip kong gumawa ng post regarding our special day. Hopefully, it could be of help to anyone na nalalapit nang magpakasal. Our wedding day was March 16, 2014, 9: 00 in the morning at La Mesa Dam Guest House.


It was the same place where we had our prenup photo shoot. You can also check my post about our prenup photo shoot for more photos of the venue. For me, this venue, if not the best is a great place for weddings in Quezon City and you will know why as you read this post.


Beautiful sunrise it was indeed. These are unedited photos of the sunrise on our wedding day. Isn't it lovely? Parang wala ako sa Quezon City. I felt I was out of town. It was calm and quiet na para akong nasa province pero I am few minutes away lang naman to Quirino Highway.


Morning ang aming kasal so our makeup artists and photographers are on the site as early as 4:00 AM. Advantage na may separate additional big room (seems like a conference room) on the ground floor where had more than enough space para sa pagaayos namin while everyone is busy sa labas. 


My HMUA was Aryan Ang. She did my (now) husband's grooming too. And my dear friend Aldrin Jalandoni took care of my secondary sponsor's hair and makeup including my mom.

Ready na din ang mga giveaways para sa aming bisita at mga sponsors straight from Baguio. We pick it up sa Cubao bus station the night before our wedding. Kasama dun ang aking wedding bouquet. Our giveaways were succulents and it comes with personalized thank you card based on our wedding concept. We bought it from Living Gifts.

It was not a usual give away and I want it that way since I want it unique yet practical. May personal touch pa ang plants since you can grow it at pwedeng magtagal.

In fact, yung succulents sa bouquet ko ay lumaki pa at dumami. I give it to a friend who happen to win during the program. She send me some photos few months after our wedding na dumami at nabuhay yung succulents nya.

Anyway, here's a photo of me with my wedding bouquet. 

Parang nakikiisa sa aming ang weather noon kasi it was a sunny day pero mahangin at malilim all throughout the day dahil maraming puno. The garden venue was literally sa harap ng guest house which is ilang hakbang lang. How convenient diba?


Pre-wedding photos muna before anything else. It is important for me to include these photos sa post so you can also see the work of our makeup artists and photographers. For me, they did a really good job. The photos still look natural yet vibrant ang colors. I really like my makeup too.


Yung gown ko at ng mga abay ko up to the flower girls ay pinatahi namin sa mga titas ko. Ako mismo ang namili ng design at pinagaya ko lang pero tinanong ko din yung mga susuot kung type nila kasi gusto ko magamit din nila yung dress kahit after our wedding. While yung kay husband naman ay binili namin sa Divisoria.























Moving on sa aming garden wedding, I didn't expect much. Di ko na din naiisip kung paano gagawin nilang ayos dun since kasama na sya sa catering package so long as it would look presentable I'm ok na pero it exceeded my expectation.



Kung kaninang umaga parang nasa probinsya lang ang feeling ko, ngayon naman parang nasa Japan na ako. hahaha.

Yung cherry blossom arrangement nila literally add color sa basic set up. Although maganda na ang garden dahil madamo at mapuno tapos fresh pa ang hangin from the dam, the arrangement was an absolute eye catcher and nakakagood vibes talaga.

What a lovely day it was!

Aside from exchanging of vows may favorite part was when they all prayed for us. Mahalaga talaga sa buhay may asawa na kasama si Lord sa relationship. Walang relasyon na magtatagal not unless ang Dios ang nasa gitna nito.

We had like 5-course meal plus 2 desserts. May flowing dark chocolate din and other pika pika with unlimited coffee since maaga ang kasal baka di pa nakapagbreakfast ang ibang mga bisita.

We also have a photo booth outside where visitors can take unlimited photos as an additional souvenir.

May aircon sa Guesthouse but we prefer na open ang lahat ng doors straight from the balcony where you can see the dam kaya ang sarap ng simoy ng hangin.


And look at our cake and our 3d cupcakes. Ayos ba?

Again since mahilig ako sa unique, I ended up looking for our cake design na dapat hindi usual. I saw a cake sa Pinterest na pinagaya ko kay Ms.Ann of Hney Sophies ang cake at gayang gaya nya. Sabi nya first time nya to do airbrush but it ended up really fabulous.

Even this 3d cupcake, si Ms. Ann din ang gumawa. It was my wedding love letter for my (now) husband.

At the reception, we had the usual program lead by our jolly host. Tapos kainan. We had the Madrigal siblings to serenade us with their lovely voices. The guest house has plenty of cubicles too, 3 cubicles sa babae at ganun din sa lalaki with big mirrors and plenty of sinks din. Parang nasa mall lang. haha


Our post wedding photos are just few steps from our garden wedding. Pero as you can see parang ibang lugar. Parang nasa forest lang. Hahaha



























At pwde bang mawala ang napakaraming group photo? Sabi nga ng pamangkin ni husband, "What a DAM wedding!"



All in all, I can say na the best ang La Mesa Dam Guesthouse para sa wedding venue or kahit sa ibang occasions because it is near. You don't have to go too far to have a peaceful ambiance. It is private, hindi dito nakakapasok basta basta for security. You get to have a lot of picturesque spots in here, be with water (dam), with greens (garden) and the trees (forest). P.S. We could have our wedding ng June pero irerenovate daw ang Guesthouse and they don't even know kelan matatapos ang renovation and if it will still be open to others kaya we decided to have our wedding ng March.

Prenup Photoshoot in La Mesa Dam


About 2 more months and we're getting married. Wedding is every women's dream sabi nila and I think it is nga. As much as excited ang lalaki to get wed iba talaga ang excitement ng babae. It is their day. Ika nga e, ako ang bida nyayon. Haha. A day na sila ang pinakamaganda, sila ang pinagtitinginan, sila ang pinakamasaya.


Before the wedding day, uso na ngayon ang prenup pictorials and video teaser. I am just glad na I get to do that kasi mahalaga sa akin ang photos. It is a collection for memories kasi which I can share sa magiging mga anak namin at apo in the future. Or even something to look back to as time passes by.


Our prenup shot was taken inside La Mesa Dam. Not in Ecopark where usually prenup shots are done but it's in the guest house which is not open to public.

We just have a family friend here that were able to give us access to have this as our venue. By the way, dito din ang venue ng aming wedding.

And for me, to have our prenup shot here means some savings for our wedding gastusin kasi hindi ko na kailangang magbayad pa ng another venue just for this purpose. And it was really beautiful at di matao kasi private sya. We have the whole place on our own except sa mga guards na nagbabantay at umiikot sa area.



Hindi naman ito ganun kabig deal for us. 2 sets ng damit nga lang ang meron kami noon and I even came from a client meeting sa Makati. Wala kaming props but just the nice view. I am just after having good photos to keep. Maraming good spots for picture taking and we really had fun doing it.

Small group lang kami, sumama yung younger sister ko at cousin para lang makigulo but technically 5 people lang ang nasa likod ng aming camera.

 
At ang masaya pa kasi para kaming naka triple date, yung make up artist namin ay asawa ng photographer namin, and she is with her sister na nagassist sa kanya na boyfriend naman ng isa pa naming photographer that time. Magasawa na din sila ngayon. :)


We had discount din sa photos namin at makeup artist since they are working as partner. Kung baga package na din, they were also the same people on our wedding day, nadagdagan lang ng ilan pang photographers to assist and another make up artist para sa mga abay.


Nagpaluto lang kami sa mama ko noon tapos dinala ng pinsan at kapatid ko para baon namin the whole day. Inabot kami ng gabi kasi we had a video teaser.


I could say na sulit talaga ang deal ko with them kasi parehas silang magaling. I liked my hair and makeup kahit na di ako blooming dahil kulang ako ng beauty rest e I still look glamorous sa pagkakaayos nya sa akin. At ang mga photographers namin were really patient kasi parehas kami ng asawa ko na di naman mahilig sa selfie at naninibago kami na medyo nahihiya sa camera. Hehe.


Isang nakakatuwang trivia lang about us, is that nung nagpropose ang asawa ko in Davao it was full moon, nung nagprenup shot kami it was full moon at noong kinasal kami full moon din.

Here's our prenup teaser below. Natatawa ako sa acting namin dito until now pero LLS naman ako sa song na nilagay ng team dito. First time ko marinig ang song na ito sa mismong teaser namin at simula noon, gustong gusto ko na ang song. I think Bullet Train ang title nya. I am not just that sure.

Hi everyone. Thanks for dropping by sa aking blog. My name is Lyndy Honey B. Young. My colleagues call me Lyn and my friends and family call me Hon.

I am a licensed real estate broker by profession and I work freelance. To start off, I was kinda hesitant if I should start blogging, and when I did naman, I had a hard time to consistently do it.

I think it was 2009 when I had my first blog then I deleted it kasi di naman na nasundan ang post ko. 2015 I started it again with my first post about our tour in El Nido Palawan and followed by our travel to Coron. I got so inspired by the beauty of Palawan that I think it was worth sharing, but then again because of my busy schedule e nahinto na naman ako sa pagbloblog.

The purpose of me blogging kasi was to really just make an online diary. Kasi if I am to do the traditional dairy where you can just write it down e madalas akong nakakawala ng mga bagay bagay, although I starting journaling this year (2017) again pero hindi na talaga yung mahaba at detailed, kundi yung highlights na lang ng araw ko.


I hope you don't mind me writing in Taglish. Di kasi ako kagalingan sa English and I have to always check pa kung tama ba grammar ko, punctuations and all that pero di dko din naman masulat ng pure Tagalog ang post kasi mahirap din for me lalo kapag nagmamadali ako and I have a lot to share.

Another purpose of this blog is to share good vibes. To inspire or to at least give information in any way. Seeing photos of nature kasi for me ay nakakagoodvibes na, so kung katulad kita, I hope this blog can be an inspiration for you somehow.

I had some posts na which are all written in English pero wala din akong co-author or editor to check it so natatagalan ako but if I have more time I will try my best to write in English to cater international readers pero kapag di kaya ng peg ko at magdugo na ang ilong ko e dun na lang muna tayo sa Taglish. Hehe.

So, that's all for now. Pagpasensyahan nyo muna ang kaunting laman ng blog kong ito but I am happy that I get to start again. Keep the love burning, love life, live life and laugh at life! Mabuhay!
